Higgins joins Bennett-Wells American Legion Post Black History Month celebration to honor 50-plus Vietnam veterans

During a special Black History Month celebration presented by the Bennett-Wells American Legion Post and Auxiliary No. 1780, Congressman Brian Higgins honored more than 50 veterans who served during the Vietnam War.
Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center wins 2020 Just Communities of WNY award

The National Federation for Just Communities of WNY presented an award to the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, honoring the museum for its work on behalf of others. The Heritage Center was given the "Organization" award alongside 19 other awards that honored everything from youth to sports and public relations.
Buffalo Sabres Green Team to hold all sports equipment drive March 9-15

The Buffalo Sabres Green Team today announced it will hold a sports equipment drive at KeyBank Center starting Monday, March 9, when the Sabres take on the Washington Capitals. The drive will run until Sunday, March 15, and all equipment donated will benefit Victory Sports.

Over the last two seasons, the Lewiston-Porter Lancers boys basketball team have accomplished great feats going a combined 33-12 and won the Niagara Frontier League and Section VI Class A titles. Accomplishments and accolades take hard work, talent and success to achieve. While the Lancers feature star sophomore Roddy Gayle, there's another player wearing the Kelly green and white who has been a huge piece to the L-P squad ... and he's just a freshman. Jalen Duff has taken the role of point guard for the last two seasons under coach Matt Bradshaw's squad and, in just two years, the two-year varsity guard has stood out for the Lancers.

On Monday, The Black Keys confirmed their 35-date "Let's Rock" summer tour. Each date on the tour will feature special guest Gary Clark Jr., with the exception of the July 10 Berkeley show, which will feature support from Allah-Las. Jessy Wilson, The Marcus King Band, and Yola will each open select dates. Tickets for all dates will go on sale to the general public here beginning at 10 a.m. local time Friday, Feb. 28.
