At the Dec. 9 Lewiston Town Board meeting, the board approved a negative declaration for the land at 4358 Lower River Road following State Environmental Quality Review Act findings. The declaration maintains that, based on tests and reviews done at the project site, the proposed town development has been determined not to have significant adverse environmental impacts.

Fishermen and visitors to the Village of Lewiston waterfront have noticed the last remnant of the old, damaged dock is gone. A replacement is on the way, and will be installed as soon as possible - likely after the holidays.

Employees from Watts Architecture & Engineering, CPL Architecture & Engineering, Trautman Associates, Ferguson Electric, Marathon Energy/Buffalo State and Hamburg Gaming are schedule to participate in the competition with all canned goods used benefitting FeedMore of Western New York.

The Carnegie Art Center hosted a big night this past Thursday for its annual "Art off the Wall" event. The largest wall was covered with small 5-by-7-inch pieces of art, while the space also contained a room dedicated to 12-by-12-inch canvases and even tinted glass that were bid on silently by artists' fans.

The Greater Niagara Ballet Co. will present "The Nutcracker" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Niagara Falls High School Performing Arts Center, 4455 Porter Road.
