Earlier this week, Empire State Development co-hosted the New York State Multicultural Creativity Summit, an interactive workshop that provides a roadmap for content creators of diverse backgrounds to navigate the film and television industry. The event, hosted by the Governor's Office of Motion Picture & Television Development and the Motion Picture Association (MPTV), together with new partner Ghetto Film School, is the most recent of New York's initiatives to promote the inclusion of diverse voices in the entertainment industry.

The New York Power Authority is reaching design completion of its statewide sensor deployment program, allowing site installations to commence. The multiphase program is installing hundreds of sensors on generation, substation and switchyard assets across the state to closely monitor the health and performance of NYPA's statewide power generation and transmission network.

The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS) announced the launch of a new media campaign reminding people of the warning signs of addiction and overdoses, and that addiction can happen to anyone. It is designed to reach people traveling for the holidays and will run through the end of December. The campaign is partially funded with money awarded to New York State under the federal state opioid response grant.

Erie County credit rating boom: Kroll Bond Rating Agency assigns AA-, 'stable' outlook to county bonds

The Erie County Division of Budget and Management announced Kroll Bond Rating Agency ("KBRA") assigned a long-term rating of AA- and a "stable" outlook for Erie County bonds, another affirmative sign from an independent financial entity that the county's fiscal profile is strong and stable in 2019. In early November, Moody's Investor's Service ("Moody's") upgraded Erie County's credit rating to A1, up from A2, and noted a "stable" outlook for the county, as well, marking the highest rating the county has reached with Moody's since 1976.
