The American Diabetes Association invites riders, runners and walkers of all levels to join the celebration and be part of the movement to fight diabetes by taking part in Tour de Cure. The fitness and community event is Saturday, June 1, at Niagara University's Dwyer Ice Arena. It will help raise funds to support the ADA's mission to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

The Erie County Department of Central Police Services, in collaboration with the Office of Public Advocacy and the Town of Cheektowaga Police Department, will host a domestic violence training course for call-takers and dispatchers from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 20. This is the first time this training has been conducted in Erie County.

Untreated firewood may contain invasive pests that kill trees, and to protect New York's forests, untreated firewood should not be moved more than 50 miles from its source of origin.

Local leaders gathered Tuesday to kick-off a new season for the Discover Niagara Shuttle. The free, hop-on/hop-off shuttle service first launched in 2016. Today, it takes passengers to 17 destinations along a 14-mile route, which stretches from Niagara Falls to Old Fort Niagara.

A statue of the Madonna that once stood in front of Niagara Catholic High School has found a new home at the foot of St. Peter R.C. Church in Lewiston. On Sunday, the Rev. Monsignor David LiPuma led a Mass of thanksgiving and dedication as he stood next to the monument of Mary.

Maelyn Jarmon, a 26-year-old artist originally from Frisco, Texas, and currently living in New York, was crowned champion of "The Voice" on Tuesday. Jarmon stood out all season for both her vocals and ability to master her sound as an artist deaf in one ear. The pop alternative singer earned coach John Legend his first "Voice" win on the four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series.
