Six physicians will soon be joining the medical staff at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, five in primary care and one in obstetrics and gynecology, expanding the availability of care at its six outpatient centers.

Dang Tuan Pham, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.M.B.S., has joined Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's medical team of providers in the minimally invasive medical weight loss, metabolic and bariatric surgery program. He is a veteran practitioner in metabolic and bariatric surgery.

The Artpark & Company board of directors has confirmed selection of the lead design team for its master plan: Internationally recognized architecture and design firm SO - IL; landscape architects West 8; and theater, acoustics and digital design consultancy Charcoalblue. They are tasked with the development of a strategy to revitalize the Artpark grounds, while improving connectivity, facilities and programs.

Three days of activities, two locations, and free admission highlight The Buffalo History Museum's celebration of the 118th anniversary of the Pan-American Exposition from May 17-19. This weekend will showcase the history of the 1901 World's Fair, which occupied 350 acres of land on the western edge of Buffalo, what is now Delaware Park, extending from Delaware Avenue to Elmwood Avenue and northward to Great Arrow Avenue.

ABC announced the network picked up a new iteration of the classic variety show "Kids Say the Darndest Things," hosted and executive produced by comedic superstar Tiffany Haddish. The hilarious reimagined format showcases a mix of in-studio segments and taped pieces from across the country, all set in front of a live studio audience. The series will capture Haddish's unique voice and sensibility as she interacts with real kids - and their innocently entertaining points of view.

Craig Damone Pridgen, senior pastor at True Bethel Baptist Church, Niagara Falls, and a senior business and planning analyst at M&T Bank, has been elected to the board of trustees of Niagara University. The appointment was announced by the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., president of the university.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced construction will continue this week on the project to remove a portion of the Niagara Scenic Parkway in the City of Niagara Falls. As a result, a new road closure is scheduled to begin.

KeyBank is making a $2.5 million donation to Erie County Medical Center Corp.'s (ECMCC) trauma and emergency department capital campaign. This grant is being made by KeyBank in partnership with the First Niagara Foundation, and has put the campaign close to its goal of $15 million.

The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) announced the launch of the "Develop a Plan" campaign, which encourages adults to develop a plan with teens and young adults to get out of dangerous situations involving drugs or alcohol. It also encourages adults to talk to young people about not using alcohol and drugs, since peer pressure can be challenging and being prepared with a plan can help. The launch of the campaign coincides with prom and graduation season, as well as National Prevention Week.

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. board of directors met Monday and authorized ECHDC to enter into a $5.53 million contract with Savarino Companies LLC for construction of the Longshed Building at Canalside. The approximately 4,400-square-foot wood-frame structure will reflect the Central Wharf site's history by incorporating elements from the Joy and Webster Storehouse located on the site in the early 1800s. Staff and volunteers with the Buffalo Maritime Center will work out of the building during its first three years while building a replica of an 1825 packet boat.

The New York State Gaming Commission's Lottery and Video Lottery operations on Monday reinforced their collective standing as North America's largest and most profitable lottery businesses by becoming the first to break $10 billion in combined sales and net win for the fiscal year ending March 31. Combined, the record-breaking earnings generated $3.47 billion in Lottery Aid to Education, which accounts for 13 percent of all New York state school aid disbursed in fiscal year 2018-19.
