ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke announced that the network is developing an anthology series "Women of the Movement" (working title). The series is a chronology of the civil rights movement as told from a black woman's point of view, with the first season centered on Mamie Till, who devoted her life to seeking justice in her son Emmett's name following his brutal murder in the Jim Crow South.
ABC announces development based on bestselling book 'Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11'

ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke announced ABC has secured the rights to Mitchell Zuckoff's bestselling book "Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11." In order to commemorate and honor the 20th anniversary of the events of Sept. 11, the network will develop a limited series based on the Harper Collins book in 2021. The series will be produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment and executive produced by Erwin Stoff and Richard Abate of 3 Arts as well as Mitchell Zuckoff.

Award-winning musical legend Mariah Carey will lend her iconic voice and songwriting talents to the theme song of "mixed-ish," the newest spinoff of the "black-ish" franchise coming to ABC this fall. Titled "In The Mix," the track is written by Carey and produced by Carey and Daniel Moore. Fans can catch the song when the series premieres Tuesday, Sept. 24 (9 p.m. EDT).
