Sahlen, DiPietro, Orange County Choppers to build wall for vets

New York Attorney General Barbara D. Underwood announced a record $174.2 million consumer fraud settlement with Charter Communications Inc. and Spectrum Management Holding Company (together "Charter") for defrauding internet subscribers. The $62.5 million in direct refunds to consumers alone are believed to represent the largest-ever payout to consumers by an internet service provider (ISP) in U.S. history.
NYPA board approves $600 million credit line to finance energy-efficiency programs

Only five evenings remain to experience the Fairgrounds Festival of Lights at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg. Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 19, the festival will feature an expanded schedule. Gates will be open from 5-9 p.m. (through Sunday, Dec. 23), with the buildings and grounds staying open until 10 p.m.

Erie County Fair announces admission price restructuring

The Erie County Agricultural Society has announced a revised gate admission structure. Under the plan, which will go into effect during the 180th Erie County Fair in 2019, full-price, adult gate admission will increase from $10 to $12. The revised admission cost is the first gate increase for the Erie County Fair in a decade.

AAA urges drivers to safely secure Christmas trees

A AAA survey found an estimated 20 million Americans who purchased a real Christmas tree in the past three years did not properly secure it to their vehicle, risking serious vehicle damage and dangerous road debris. Vehicle damage that results from an improperly secured Christmas tree, such as scratched paint, torn door seals and distorted window frames, could cost up to $1,500 to repair. In addition to vehicle damage, Christmas trees that are not properly secured are a safety hazard for other drivers.
