Seneca-Babcock Community Association receives a $18,500 grant from General Mills Foundation

The Seneca-Babcock Community Association has received a $18,500 grant through a competitive application and review process from the General Mills Foundation. The SBCA will use these funds to support "Healthy Choices Healthy Kids," a program that helps promote healthy eating, increased physical activity, a positive outlook and awareness of good nutrition among youth.
Jacobs, Ortt & Co. announce heroin & opioid funding

Chris Jacobs, Rob Ortt and the Western New York delegation to the New York State Senate announced a major funding commitment to a regional service provider on the front lines of the battle against heroin and opioid addiction. Save the Michaels of the World Inc. will receive $425,000 in the recently approved state budget to support their efforts to reduce drug overdoses and addiction across Western New York.
Erie County auto bureaus will process record number of transactions in 2018

According to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles renewal schedule, Erie County auto bureaus will hit a record number of transactions in 2018. The main cause of this substantial uptick in transactions is due to New York state license renewals. Because of this, Erie County Auto Bureaus are experiencing a significant increase in volume, leading to lengthy wait times of up to two hours.
Tire collection in Youngstown

The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning and its environmental partners are inviting residents to celebrate Earth Day at the Buffalo Museum of Science on Sunday, April 22. It was a historic occasion, as Grand Island successfully became the Thruway Authority's second cashless tolling location across its 570-mile system, the first in upstate New York.

Sales tax checks delivered to Grand Island School District

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw recently updated school districts throughout Erie County on their share of collected sales tax from the first quarter of the year. Checks that support programs and services for children, teachers and administrators have been delivered to Erie County to school superintendents. Grand Island School District's share totals $837,310.65.
