The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program to support Western New York-area high school seniors in pursuit of higher education in the foodservice and hospitality industries. Motorists are paying about a quarter more per gallon of gasoline than they did one year ago. While pump prices have dipped in recent weeks, this is not a trend that is expected to continue. AAA forecasts the national gas price average will be as much as $2.70 per gallon this spring - a pump price Americans have not paid since summer of 2015, when prices hit $2.81.

It was a great work out for a great cause. Spinning instructor Stefany Critelli held a three-hour spin class at ChrisFit in Lewiston on Feb. 24. Riders paid $10 for each hour they participated. Many rode for the entire three hours and gave extra donations, as well. The event, which raised $500, was a pre-ride to support the Hospice Gran Fondo bicycle ride that raises money for Niagara Hospice.
