dick clark productions and ABC announced TV/radio broadcaster Ryan Seacrest will return to host television's largest live broadcast New Year's celebration, "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018," again joined by actress and comedian Jenny McCarthy. America's largest celebration of the year will take place on Sunday, Dec. 31, beginning at 8 p.m. EST on The ABC Television Network.

Prior to Christmas weekend, Congressman Chris Collins released the following statement offering his appreciation to elementary school students, businesses and community organizations from around the 27th district for participating in his "Holiday Mail for Veterans" program. The office collected more than 1,500 holiday cards and delivered them to veterans at the Buffalo and Batavia VA facilities.

The annual Youngstown/Town of Porter Community Holiday Baskets project has been declared a great success this year. Scores of volunteers worked a village-townwide collection campaign from Dec. 11-16 at the Red Brick Village Center gym. Through the efforts and the donations of many, 50 families received food boxes, and over 90 children received clothing and toy items.

Four people from the Niagara Region were inducted into the 2017 class, including John Hayes, former basketball player at Niagara Falls; Rich Kilgour, former lacrosse player at Niagara-Wheatfield; Patrick Monti, former basketball coach of LaSalle; and Harris Wienke, former athlete at Niagara-Wheatfield.
