NT groundbreaking ceremony for new Raymond Klimek Veterans Park bandshell

Mayor Arthur G. Pappas joined Niagara County Legislator Rich Andres, North Tonawanda Director of Parks and Recreation Patty Brosius, as well as additional city and county officials for a groundbreaking ceremony in dedication of a new open-air bandshell in Raymond Klimek Veterans Park. The bandshell will replace the aging event stage purchased in 2003.

In certain years its promoted Buffalo, with the maze being designed in a Sabres logo or Bandits logo and more. In 2017, the maze has been designed to the theme "Hometown Heroes."

Niagara Reserve Citizen Airmen support hurricane relief efforts in Florida

Six members of the 914th Civil Engineer Squadron departed Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station bound for Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida, where they will support recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Irma. A 911th Airlift Wing C-130 out of Pittsburgh Air Reserve Station provided the transport.

Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper has announced the completion of the Hyde Park Lake living shoreline project, a two-year effort in partnership with the City of Niagara Falls and the Niagara River Greenway Ecological Standing Committee. The project enhanced 600 linear feet of shoreline located near the Rose Garden on the eastern end of Hyde Park Lake.

Mount St. Mary's Hospital held a press conference Tuesday afternoon to announce it is the recipient of an $825,200 grant from the New York State Health Care Facility Transformation Program. Funding will support the expansion of the hospital's Clearview treatment services, a confidential, inpatient rehabilitation program dedicated to the holistic care of people whose lives have been affected by drugs and/or alcohol.

State Parks Standing Committee to meet for project approval

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Niagara River Greenway Fund Standing Committee will hold a meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, to vote on funding for projects being proposed to the Standing Committee by State Parks. The meeting will be held at DeVeaux Woods State Park and is open to the public.
