Eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is expected to compete in the men's 100m in his final IAAF Diamond League race before the World Track & Field Championships in August. Bolt has said the World Track & Field Championships will be his final competition before retiring.

Every year, dozens of children die due to heatstroke from being left in a hot car for too long. Nineteen children have already passed away this year; 723 since 1998 (according to the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians). While an overwhelming majority of these deaths were accidental, they were preventable.

Local nonprofit Childhaven on Thursday announced the establishment of the "Chris Cornell Music Therapy Program at Childhaven" in memory of the late musician and philanthropist. Vicky Cornell has committed $100,000 to assist Childhaven's therapeutic early learning model for trauma-affected children. This announcement comes on July 20, the date of Chris Cornell's birth.

In April, Higgins and Ryan stood near the property urging Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. to take the necessary steps to expedite construction of the dining, retail and residential space proposed in the 2013 Canalside modified general project plan.
