New York State Sen. Rob Ortt, R-C-I-North Tonawanda, on Tuesday was named as a member of the Standing Committee on Energy and Telecommunications. Temporary President of the state Senate and Majority Leader John Flanagan announced the committee assignments during the afternoon legislative session.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently reappointed Gina I. Virtuoso of Niagara Falls to a seat on the Niagara County Community College board of trustees. Virtuoso was initially appointed in 2009 and completed her first term in June 2016.
