The 15th annual Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival kicked off Friday in the village with the French Quarter Hounds marching down Center Street; former Mayor Richard Soluri receiving an award for his long-time support of the event - which he helped create; Jenna Stinnis belting out the national anthem; and a performance by headliner Molly Johnson.

Assemblyman John D. Ceretto announced he secured an additional $500,000 in funding for the Buffalo Avenue rehabilitation project in Niagara Falls. The money will go toward phase two of the project, which stretches from 65th Street to the LaSalle Expressway off-ramp.
