The Historical Association of Lewiston shared the following this week:
“Lewiston has been chosen as the location for a new movie production that will start filming next month. ‘Christmas at the Starlight’ will be a Great American Family Christmas movie starring Tony Danza, Mario Lopez and Dominic Lopez (Mario’s real-life 12-year-old son).
“The production will include backdrops including the Lewiston Museum, street scenes, homes and a Lewiston church. It will premiere during the upcoming holiday season on the Great American Family and related platforms.
“The production crews will be filming in Lewiston for about two weeks.
“Tim Clark, film commissioner for the Buffalo Niagara Film Office, said, ‘The producers loved Lewiston. It is the quintessential representation of historic Americana – a real-life Norman Rockwell painting and the perfect setting for a heartwarming Christmas story.’ ”
This won’t be the first feature to film in Lewiston. In 2015, filmmakers Tony Glazer and Summer Crockett Moore shot “The Morning the Sun Fell Down” (also known as “Morning Sun” and “After the Sun Fell”) at the Barton Hill Mansion and Apple Granny Restaurant. The movie starred Neil Bledsoe, Chasty Ballesteros, Danny Pudi, Diana DeGarmo, Joanna Bayless and Lance Henriksen.
