Tops Friendly Markets announced the launch of its annual campaign in support of the United Way. It will run from Aug. 23 through Sept. 5, will take place at select Tops locations. Shoppers can contribute by donating $1 at checkout or by rounding up their change at any Tops register. These donations directly support the United Way helping fund critical programs and initiatives that serve thousands of community members.
The United Way’s mission is to create long-lasting, positive change. Its “United is the Way” message emphasizes that, in collaboration we find hope, strength, and thrive.
Tops has been a longtime supporter of the United Way and, since 2014, this campaign alone has contributed more than $674,233 to help community members fill the gap. Beyond customer contributions, Tops also encourages its associates to give generously to the campaign each year, further amplifying the effort’s impact.
“A we embark on another campaign season for the United Way, we recognize how important the task at hand is,” said Darren Robbins, United Way board member and VP finance, treasurer for Tops. “The generosity of our customers and dedication of our associates to this campaign over the years has helped to create a stronger, healthier community for all – and we know that, with that same commitment, we can reach and even exceed this year’s goal.”
