Debuts video series titled ‘Faces and Families of Autism’ to share the joys, pains, achievements, and struggles
Sensational Fun Press Release
Nonprofit agency Sensational Fun launched a special video series that debuted on its page, titled “Faces and Families of Autism.”
The social media initiative, which started Monday, April 15, features 11 parents of children who are autistic or live with special needs. Videos will run every weekday until the end of April, which is Autism Acceptance Month.
The “Faces and Families of Autism” video testimonials from parents will be released every weekday on the Sensational Fun Facebook page. They feature mothers and fathers who share the beauty, love, joy, and yes, the many challenges and difficulties facing families of children living with special needs and who are also living with autism. The last of the 11 videos will appear Monday, April 28.
“Parents were raw, emotional and real in sharing their perspectives of raising children living with autism. They held nothing back. We are proud and privileged to serve as a platform to let their voices be heard,” said Sensational Fun Executive Director and Occupational Therapist Cheryl Guggenmos.
Five videos have been released. Monday: Beppi; Tuesday: TJ; Wednesday: Elizabeth; Thursday: Our Terrific Twins; and Friday: Pearl.
No agency funds from Sensational Fun were used to produce the professional videos that encompass the “Faces and Families of Autism” campaign. An Erie County-based communications consulting firm donated its services at no charge.
