Niagara Gospel Mission Press Release
Niagara Gospel Mission stepped up this week to support local airmen and their families affected by the ongoing government shutdown.
On Thursday, NGM Executive Director John Cooper Jr. and Operations Director Dave DiTullio personally delivered groceries to 20 airmen and their families stationed at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. With many service members currently not receiving pay due to the shutdown, the delivery provided much-needed relief and a reminder that the community stands behind them.
“Our service members sacrifice so much for our country,” Cooper said. “When we learned that these families were going without paychecks, we knew we had to act. No one who serves our nation should have to worry about feeding their family.”
The effort was part of NGM’s ongoing mission to provide emergency assistance and community support during times of hardship. Volunteers and donors from the local area contributed funds and supplies to make the grocery delivery possible.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated and helped us make this possible,” DiTullio added. “This is what community looks like – neighbors helping neighbors, especially those who serve.”
With both Cooper and DiTullio being veterans themselves, this was a special way for NGM to reach out and aid those who care so deeply for our nation. While the government shutdown has been difficult on many organizations and individuals, NGM is happy to still find ways to serve when they have the resources to do so.
