Dr. Scott F. McKay

Dr. Scott F. McKay, of the Village of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Niagara Falls on May 22, 1946, the son of the late Gordon and Evelyn (Howard) McKay.
Together with his wife, Nancy M. (Monteleone) McKay, Dr. McKay owned and operated Lewiston Chiropractic from 1981 to 2016. He was widely respected for his deep research into health, wellness and spirituality. In 1991, he founded Advance Chiropractic, where his twin sons, Dr. Douglas F. Monteleone and Dr. Donald P. Monteleone, continue to practice alongside Dr. McKay’s grandson, Dr. Ryan Monteleone.
Dr. McKay, a Vietnam veteran, was an easygoing, loving, empowering patriarch of his family. He enjoyed boating, waterskiing, pickleball, and was a lifelong inventor/tinkerer. He served Western New York as the first pickleball ambassador.
Dr. McKay is survived by his wife, Nancy M. (Monteleone) McKay; his sons: Dr. Douglas F. (Rosanna) Monteleone and Dr. Donald P. (Jaew) Monteleone: by his grandchildren: Tiegan Monteleone, Dr. Ryan Monteleone, Collin Monteleone, Logan Monteleone and Angelo Monteleone; as well as his nephew, Randy Ferguson, and many other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Constance McKay, Bobette Bensen, Shirley Venturin and Drusilla Utter; and by his grandson, Mason Monteleone.
A visitation and remembrance for family will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Advance Chiropractic, 820 Main St., Niagara Falls. Friends and former patients are welcome to stop in and pay their respects.
