Niagara County Department of Health press release & graphic
The Niagara County Department of Health invites the public to a free community health fair from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, outdoors in the parking lot of the department’s new facility at 55 Stevens St., Lockport.
This fair will bring together a diverse group of healthcare providers, public agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations to offer resources and support for residents of all ages. By gathering these clinical services, safety experts and community partners in one space, the NCDOH aims to provide a comprehensive experience for Niagara County families.
"As a member of the Board of Health, I was proud to support the relocation of the Health Department to Stevens Street last year," Niagara County Legislator Tony Nemi said. "This move was about making our services more accessible to the people who need them. We are eager to welcome our neighbors to this site and show them exactly how these programs work for our community.”
•NCDOH clinical and safety programs: Information on nursing programs, sexual health and immunization clinics, child car seat safety checks, hands-only CPR, Narcan training, and environmental health programs.
•Health screenings and assessments: Complimentary blood pressure and glucose screenings provided by healthcare organizations and university nursing programs.
•Specialized outreach: Cancer prevention, tobacco cessation, and lung cancer screening resources from Roswell Park and related partners.
•Family and caregiver support: Alzheimer’s education, foster/adoption information, and support services for first-time mothers.
•Wellness and education: Nutrition and healthy housing education, alongside massage therapy demonstrations and children’s health activities.
•Public safety: Public safety outreach from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and Niagara County Emergency Services.
•Giveaways: promotional items and raffle entry for prizes.
“By gathering our clinical staff, environmental experts and community partners in one space, we are making it easier than ever for residents to connect with the vital programs that protect their health every day,” said Dr. Fauzia Khan, Niagara County public health director. “This event represents our continued commitment to providing high-quality, accessible public health services to all residents of Niagara County.”
