The following Grand Island response activity occurred Saturday, May 9, to Friday, May 15, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. ECSO deputies handled a total of 2,319 complaints among its county districts of 15 municipalities, including Grand Island, for the week of this report.
This included 474 premises checks; 16 neighborhood patrols; 270 vehicle/traffic stops; 211 calls to assist other agencies; and 19 arrest warrants served.
The following is a small sampling of the noteworthy incidents on Grand Island.
Saturday, May 9
•Love/Baseline roads, traffic infraction/other – After stopping the operator of a vehicle for speeding, patrol charged a 41-year-old Grand Island man with aggravated unlicensed operation.
Tuesday, May 12
•Baseline Road/Island Park Drive, accident-PDO – A vehicle pulling out of a driveway collided with another vehicle that was traveling in the roadway.
•E. River/Staley roads, accident hit-run – Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving two vehicles that occurred in the traffic circle at the listed location. The striking vehicle left the scene.
