A public hearing on Ellicott Development’s proposal to convert building No. 3 of its Lewiston plaza into a commercial space has been postponed until Monday, Sept. 14.
The applicant requested a deferment from the original date of Aug. 10 as it awaits additional feedback from its prospective tenant, which is thought to be Ace Hardware. That input could require additional changes to the proposal.
The Planning Commission will host the public hearing inside the Red Brick Municipal Building gymnasium, 145 N. Fourth St. The meeting is expected to begin at 6:30 p.m. It will follow the Historic Preservation Commission session.
Ellicott Development has proposed converting the street-level floor of its largest plaza building into a retail space – a change from its previous request to utilize this area for residential apartments.
The Planning Board agreed to the change in date while also requesting Ellicott Development answer outstanding questions and provide additional documentation requested at its July meeting. Those materials are due a minimum of 10 days prior to the public hearing. Ellicott Development also was asked to confirm its intent to participate in the meeting by Sept. 1.
Building No. 3 of Ellicott Development’s plaza is located at 780 Center St. (at Center, North Eighth and Onondaga streets).
This Monday’s regularly scheduled Planning Board meeting will be held in the Morgan Lewis Village Boardroom.
