The Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity have appointed Donna Dean Beresheski as director of the Center of Renewal Retreat and Conference Center, one of its sponsored ministries located at Stella Niagara. Joining Beresheski are Assistant Director Shelly Yamonaco, and Hospitality Assistant Bonnie Crogan Mazur.
In operation for more than 50 years, the Center of Renewal has provided interfaith retreat opportunities to individuals and groups by offering both day and overnight programs, as well as spiritual direction. Whether participating in a guided retreat or just seeking to rest, recharge and rejuvenate, participants enjoy simple accommodations, as well as a beautiful campus featuring an outdoor labyrinth, nature trails, and Stations of the Cross.
The Center of Renewal is also home to the Women’s Respite Program, another sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis. This program provides respites to low-income single mothers, grandmothers raising grandchildren, women with cancer, women with children on the autism spectrum, and alumnae of previous retreats.
Upcoming retreats include an Ash Wednesday retreat, led by Sisters Colleen Shanahan, OSF, and Patricia McMahon, OSF, on March 5; and a Beatitudes retreat from May 15-18, led by Sister Marcella Kiesel, OSF. Information may be obtained at stellaniagararetreats.org or by calling 716-754-7376.
