Dr. Diane Pytlik-Flammia elected president of Council of Associate Degree Nursing in NYS

Dr. Diane Pytlik-Flammia, assistant vice president of academic affairs for nursing, physical, and allied health at SUNY Niagara, has been elected president of the Council of Associate Degree Nursing in New York State.

CADN is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that plays a leading role in addressing educational, professional and policy issues affecting students, faculty and administrators of associate degree nursing programs across New York. Established in the 1970s, CADN comprises deans and directors from all associate degree nursing programs statewide.

“It is a privilege to serve in this role at a time when nursing education is of paramount importance,” Pytlik-Flammia said. “I am committed to collaborating with my colleagues to strengthen the quality of nursing education further and advocate effectively on behalf of our students and faculty.”

The organization provides a forum to address key issues in undergraduate nursing education and is committed to supporting the ongoing professional development of faculty members.

CADN hosts annual workshops tailored to emerging trends and needs in nursing education. It also maintains regular dialogue with the New York State Department of Education and the New York State Nurses Association, ensuring members are informed on regulatory and professional developments.

Pytlik-Flammia brings more than two decades of leadership and clinical experience. She has been a driving force behind academic excellence and innovation in SUNY Niagara’s nursing, physical and allied health programs.
