Lewiston Garden Club Press Release & Photos
The Lewiston Garden Club would like to thank the donors who contributed prizes for the GardenFest container garden contest, and to the contest participants.
Visitors to GardenFest voted for their favorite container garden. This year’s first place in the traditional category was “Wood Creation” by Susan Lattka. First place in the whimsey group was “Faerie Falls” by Peter Masak. In the children’s division, first place went to Girl Scout Troop 72658.
The major sponsor for the container garden contest was Wegmans. In addition, the following entities provided prizes: Stedman’s Nursery, Russell’s Tree and Shrub Farm, H.A. Treichler & Sons, Wayside Nursery, Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, Aquarium of Niagara, Maid of the Mist, Buffalo Bisons, Griffon Brewery and Gastropub, and Favorites Pizza.
Funds raised by the Garden Club’s GardenFest have supported two youth scholarships this year. The club was able to award scholarships to two seniors from Lewiston-Porter High School: Rayhann Shaikh and Jack Scully.
