Eight Days of Hope Press Release & Photos
Eight Days of Hope (EDOH) – Buffalo is back for its sixth annual outreach in the “City of Good Neighbors,” bringing over 1,800 volunteers to help provide free home repairs for 100 families in the Niagara District.
From Saturday, July 19, to Saturday, July 26, volunteers from Western New York and across the U.S. will complete projects such as roofing, painting, window installation, landscaping and porch repair. Over 50 local churches and businesses have come together to support this outreach.
“Every year, our summer outreach in the City of Buffalo brings me great joy! This beautiful city is one that I am proud to call home, and I love seeing local churches, businesses and volunteers come together to support one another,” said Stephen Tybor III, EDOH president and CEO.
EDOH – Buffalo launched in 2019 in the University District, serving 375 families. In 2021, EDOH helped 202 families in the Masten District. In 2022, EDOH helped 197 families in the Fillmore District. In 2023, EDOH helped 475 families in the Lovejoy District. Last year, EDOH helped 351 families in the Ellicott District.

“After months of tedious, diligent planning, the day is finally here for the Niagara District to be served by Eight Days of Hope,” Council member David Rivera said. “Dozens of residents will receive home repairs that will make each block, each neighborhood, and the entire Niagara District that much brighter. We are in awe thinking about the transformation that will take place over the course of eight days, and we cannot begin to express our gratitude to Eight Days of Hope and their incredible volunteers.”
Additionally, EDOH is hosting two free concerts for volunteers, and the general public, to attend. Terrian will be live at Elim Christian Fellowship on Monday, July 21 (7 p.m.). Leanna Crawford will be live at Elim on Thursday, July 24 (7 p.m.).
