Village of Youngstown sets appointments, designations; policies set by trustees

The Village of Youngstown Board of Trustees set the stage for its fiscal year with a number of appointments and designations approved at the board’s annual reorganizational session, held June 26. Among the actions:

•On motions from Mayor Rob Reisman, the Board of Trustees approved the one-year appointments of Danielle Waz as deputy village clerk-treasurer; Chris Trapp, village attorney; and Peter Pfhol, village historian.

•Trustees approved the two-year appointments of Alexandra Long as village clerk/registrar, and Kim Winning as village treasurer/tax collector.

•Robert Lannon on GHD Consulting was named as the contracted engineer, and Shana DiCamillo as contracted grant writer for 2025.

•Village trustees designated the third Thursday of each month as its regular meeting time unless otherwise noted. Meetings take place at 7 p.m. in the board room of the Red Brick Village Center and are open to the public.

•Next, the village approved its procurement policy covering purchases, telephone and written quotations, and one covering formal sealed bids in conformance with General Municipal Law, Section 103.

•Trustees moved the village’s workplace violence prevention program adopted in 2012; its sexual harassment policy adopted in 2018; and its investment policy adopted in 1995. The village said that an updated investment policy is in preparation and expected for board review in September. Trustees also approved the village ethics policy, adopted in 1970, with amendments where applicable.
