The Home Assistance Referral Team held its annual “Caregiver Appreciation Celebration” last Thursday at Academy Park in Lewiston. Each year, HART brings together caregivers enrolled in the program to enjoy time together, celebrate, and be recognized for their work. They are encouraged to include any individuals for whom they are caring, if they are able.
“It is a great event to celebrate the fantastic aides that are part of the HART program. They truly are the ‘heart’ of HART, and so many people would be lost without them,” Program Coordinator Dawn Hilton said.
HART Executive Director Christine S. O’Hara said, “We are grateful to JBM HR Consulting Inc. for sponsoring this year’s celebration, along with partners Hibbard’s Custard, Syros Restaurant and KeyBank. Additionally, children from St. Peter’s School, Lewiston, will participate by performing for the group and presenting the caregivers with gifts they made.”
HART, located at 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston, serves both Niagara and Erie counties. The organization is funded solely through donations from individuals and organizations, special events and grants.
