Candidate for Town of Lewiston Council
My name is William (Bill) Burg, and I am running for the vacant seat on the Lewiston Town Board.
I have been a Lewiston resident for 30 years. I am a small business owner, a member of the Upward Niagara Chamber of Commerce, and I have 10 years’ experience on Lewiston’s Planning and Zoning Board. In that time, I have a proven record of working hard to protect all of Lewiston by being prepared and upholding the town codes, as well as recommending changes or updates to the town code. My experience and reputation as a business owner and active member of the community makes me uniquely qualified to be an effective member of the Lewiston Town Board.
In small communities such as Lewiston, appointments to town positions and local offices typically include professionals from various fields, including law, construction, business ownership, law enforcement, engineering, education, and contracting. We share schools, children’s teams, churches, clubs, and frequent local shops and restaurants.
Our dedication to serving the town's best interests unites us in addressing many of the key issues currently confronting our community. Through the challenging work of the current Town Board, Lewiston is in good financial condition and is the least financially stressed town in Niagara County. We owe a debt of gratitude to all those who have unselfishly served.
Financial viability is a large part of the responsibility of the Town Board. Work is ongoing, we must remain vigilant, and current areas of focus include addressing sewer issues in Morgan Farms and flooding concerns in neighborhoods near Creek Road.
These are serious issues that are going to need serious solutions by serious people. We need to work on our infrastructure with responsible development as a vital component.
I understand planning.
I understand infrastructure.
I understand building and construction.
I understand taxes.
I understand budgets.
And I know how to listen.
I have received endorsements from the Lewiston Republican Committee, Niagara County Republican Committee, and Niagara County Conservative Committee.
I have zero interest in the dirty wickedness of today’s politics. Smalltown residents require a representative who is committed to their needs, independent of political affiliation. I actively contribute to a variety of local initiatives and dedicate my time generously in support of these efforts.
Please vote for me for Lewiston Town Council on Nov. 4. I will work hard for all of Lewiston and be a board member the town residents deserve and expect.
We enjoy living in Lewiston because our community is harmonious. I intend to keep it this way. Citizen involvement is essential for that to continue. I will do my part.
