The Riviera Theatre and several local restaurants are teaming up to help support Twin Cities Community Outreach (TCCO), home of the NT Inter Church food pantry, with a special event Thursday, Dec. 11, according to Niagara County legislators Rich Andres, Randy Bradt and Jesse Gooch, who are spearheading the effort. This is the third year for the event, dubbed “A Miracle in North Tonawanda.”
Those who dine out at one of the North Tonawanda restaurants participating in this effort will see 10% of their bill donated to TCCO. The Riviera will then host a free screening of the Christmas classic “Elf” beginning at 7 p.m. Those who attend the movie are encouraged to bring a nonperishable item for donation to food pantry.
“While Buddy the Elf may stick to his four main food groups of candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup, the restaurants across North Tonawanda have a tremendous variety of great food for everyone,” Andres said. “A Miracle in NT will get you in the Christmas spirit and provide much-needed support for the Inter Church food pantry.
The movie will begin at 7 p.m. at the Riviera Theatre, located at 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda. Partnering restaurants include Canal Club 62, Dockside, Dwyer’s Irish Pub, Figmor, Galassi’s Sub Shop, Hideaway Grill, Panes, District 37, Webster’s Bistro, Buffalo Pizza Project, Frankie Primo’s, The IroNTon, and Coffee & Stone Café. In addition, women’s apparel and accessories retailer Aster and Lilies will also be donating a portion of their sales that day to the effort.
“Not only do we have some of the finest restaurants in all of Western New York, but also some of the most generous,” Bradt said. “We truly appreciate all those who are participating in ‘A Miracle in NT’ and hope we have a great turnout.”
