First District Niagara County Legislator Irene Myers invites readers to the Town of Porter’s annual Veteran’s Day chicken barbecue and basket raffle. The event takes place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co. firehall, 625 Third St., across from Veterans Park.
Presale tickets are $13 at local businesses; tickets will be $15 at the door. The event includes a 50/50 and a basket raffle.
Myers said basket donations for the raffle are still being accepted. “We are reaching out to the community,” she said. Baskets may be dropped off at KiPo Chevrolet in Ransomville during regular business hours. Those who donate will receive a $10 gift certificate toward any purchase, including service at the dealership.
Proceeds from the event go to benefit VFW Lake Ontario Post 313 in Youngstown and American Legion Post 830 in Ransomville.
