Former Highway Superintendent Robert E. Herman Sr. is announcing his intentions to run for the Town of Niagara Town Board in the November elections. He is one of the two candidates who were endorsed by the Democratic and Conservative parties.
“I started my career with the Town of Niagara when I was elected to the Town Board,” Herman said. “I was then appointed to the highway superintendent position to fill a void. I then ran for the highway superintendent position and was elected for three consecutive terms – which also included overseeing the Town Parks Department. I worked very hard to move those departments forward.
“With that being said, I feel very compelled to run for the Town Board to continue to help with the many challenges facing our town. I clearly understand the needs of the departments.
“I have resided on Laur Road with my wife, Brenda, for over 47 years, where we raised our four sons. I now have the time in my life to dedicate to helping the community in which I live.
“This is why I have decided to run for the Town Council. With good commonsense and a tenacious attitude, I hope to bring fresh enthusiasm to the board and help make decisions we can all benefit from.
“Thank you. Your vote will be greatly appreciated.”
