Staff Reports

Life in northern Niagara is slowly returning to normal this week following a minor traffic accident that recently shut down the Ransomville Rite Aid.

According to police reports, a motorist drove into the side of the retail store, located at 3636 Ransomville Road, on April 13. This created structural damage to the building, resulting in a temporary closure of the business per the Town of Porter building inspector.

Customers were greeted with signage informing them of the incident and temporary closure. Their responses ranged from curiosity to frustration.

Over the past year, Rite Aid customers in Youngstown have dealt with the sudden closure of the Lockport Street store, forcing them to relocate to pharmacies in Lewiston and other areas for their prescriptions and retail needs.

On Tuesday, Rite Aid store officials said they have been working with their clients to get customer prescriptions filled at other pharmacies in Lewiston and Wrights Corners.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and plan to fully reopen tomorrow,” an unidentified store official said.
