Arts Services Inc. Press Release
This weekend, June 14-15, the alley behind Hertel Avenue will be bursting with creativity and community as Arts Services Inc. (ASI) and the Office of Council Member Joel Feroleto present the 2025 Hertel Alley Mural Fest.
This two-day live art event transforms Hertel Alley – located behind 1225-1301 Hertel Ave. – into an immersive outdoor gallery, with 29 local artists and artist groups creating bold, new murals in real time. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the alley, watch the murals come to life, and meet the artists behind the work.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
“Hertel Alley Mural Fest continues to grow as a grassroots celebration of the artistic talent we have right here in Western New York,” said Jen Swan-Kilpatrick, Executive Director of ASI. “From bold new murals to casual conversations with artists at work, this event invites the public to witness creativity in action.”
“We are excited to once again showcase local artists and talent with the return of Hertel Alley Mural Fest,” Feroleto said. “The event has become a beloved tradition for creatives and attendees alike, and presents a unique opportunity for artists of all abilities to contribute to the beautification of the thriving Hertel Avenue business district.”
The selected artists represent a wide spectrum of styles and experience levels – from first-time muralists to seasoned public artists – selected through an open call to ensure an equitable distribution of opportunity and exposure across WNY’s creative community.
In case of inclement weather: Artists will have until June 30 to complete their murals. While the public event may be impacted, the artwork will continue to evolve throughout the month. Updates about artist painting schedules in that case will be shared on ASI’s social media channels.
