YMCA Buffalo Niagara is launching a donation drive beginning Wednesday, July 23, to benefit teachers and children before the start of the 2025-26 school year. The Y is looking for donations of the following back-to-school supplies at any of its five wellness centers:

√ Pencils, crayons and markers

√ Highlighters

√ Folders

√ Copy paper

√ Tissues

√ Scissors

√ Glue sticks

All donated products will go to The Teacher’s Desk. This donation drive runs through July 31, and everyone in the community is invited to participate. Donors who wish to participate and are not YMCA members will be eligible to save $50 on a YMCA membership.

“At the Y, we are committed to building a stronger local community,” said John Ehrbar, president and CEO of YMCA Buffalo Niagara. “Supporting teachers and students with the supplies they need is one way we can help, and we’re proud to partner with The Teacher’s Desk to make a difference in classrooms across Western New York.”

“We are deeply grateful for the continued support of the YMCA and their generous donors,” said Jessica Woodward, associate director of The Teacher’s Desk. “Thanks to their partnership, we’re able to serve over 150,000 students and 6,000 teachers across Western New York. Our mission is to ensure educators and students have the resources they need to succeed – and this drive plays a vital role in making that possible.”
