The following activity occurred Tuesday, July 22, to Sunday, July 27, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. LPD responded to more than 250 calls during this period. Tuesday, July 22
•300 block of S. Seventh Street, disturbance, not domestic – 911 caller stated five-plus juveniles on location, partying and fighting. Officers spoke with tenant and advised same to end the partying for the night.
•5900 block of Miller Road, damage to property – Caller states her brother broke a doorknob at the residence. Patrol said an argument had ensued over crocs; the male broke a door handle to gain access to a room. Report only.
•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, vehicle/traffic stop – Officer initiated. Driver cited for two counts of driving while intoxicated; speed in zone and disobeying a traffic control device. Report taken.
•LPD patrol activity – Calls officer initiated. Vehicle/traffic stops throughout the village and town for motor vehicle violations; 11 drivers cited with 14 uniform traffic tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court. Reports taken. Patrols issued two warnings to other drivers for violations.
Wednesday, July 23
•900 block of Pletcher Road, harassment – Caller reported receiving hate email. Officer responded, report taken.
•900 block of Oxbow Lane, suspicious activity – Caller reported two males sitting in a black van for multiple hours. Patrol found males were door-to-door sales reps for a pest control company; subjects said they were tired of working, and “slacking off” in vehicle. Subjects in uniforms and proper credentials shown. Males were playing video games when LPD approached vehicle.
•700 block of Scovell Drive, disturbance, not domestic – 911 caller states unruly landscaper on location, refusing to leave. Officers spoke with all parties; landscaper advised to leave property and not return. Report taken.
•100 block of N. Water Street, damage to property – 911 caller states juveniles broke a bench; caller attempted repairs with negative results. Patrols to follow up on video footage and contact Village of Lewiston on any future charges. Report taken.
•LPD patrol activity – Calls officer initiated. Vehicle/traffic stops for motor vehicle violations. Three drivers cited with uniform traffic tickets issued for town court. Three warnings issued.
Thursday, July 24
•1000 block of Swann Road lost and found property – Officer initiated. Caller reported a large sum of currency lost two days earlier. Statements taken from staff with negative results; patrol requested video review and to recontact LPD if needed.
•800 block of Oriole Lane, warrant service – Per dispatch activity, LPD assisting agency on warrant execution.
•4000 block of Creek Road, LPD office, assist public – Officer initiated. Patrol states the party had questions regarding a couple that worships the devil. Individual contacted claimed ignorance on why patrol was calling her.
•5000 block of Bronson Drive, animal complaint – Caller sates the neighbor’s dogs have been outside for three days, barking nonstop. Homeowner contacted by LPD. Party on vacation with a dog sitter visiting; dogs have indoor access to residence. Dog sitter expected to return to residence.
•LPD patrol activity – Calls officer initiated. Vehicle/traffic stops for motor vehicle violations. Three drivers cited with uniform traffic tickets issued for town court. Five warnings issued.
Friday, July 25
•2100 block of Mount Hope Road, lost/found property – Caller reported lost medication from the prior day and needed to refill. Patrol provided a police report.
•6200 block of Campbell Boulevard, assist police – LPD on location to assist agency on DRE evaluation. Report taken.
•Randall/Youngstown/Lockport roads, traffic complaint – 911 caller reported a cardboard box in both lanes at the intersection. Officer responded and removed same. Cucumbers reported all over roadway.
•LPD patrol activity – Calls officer initiated. Vehicle/traffic stops for motor vehicle violations. Five drivers cited with uniform traffic tickets issued for town court. Eleven warnings were issued, one report taken.
Saturday, July 26
•3300 block of Creek Road, suspicious activity – 911 caller states a suspicious vehicle was parked across the road; driver said vehicle was overheating and took off. Caller told patrol the driver was at same location earlier. Area checked with negative results.
•900 block of Mohawk Street, motor vehicle theft – 911 caller reported a missing vehicle, caller had both key fobs. Officer found said vehicle had been repossessed; report taken.
•800 block of Mohawk Street, domestic disturbance – 911 caller states parent kicked a 16-year-old female out of vehicle and told her not to return. Officers responded; report taken.
•Niagara Scenic Parkway/walkway, check welfare – 911 caller reported a male leaning on guardrail, holding an unknown item. Officers responded, no further information.
•LPD patrol activity – Calls officer initiated. Vehicle/traffic stops for motor vehicle violations. Three drivers cited with uniform traffic tickets issued for town court. Three warnings issued.
Sunday, July 27
•2800 block of Albright Road, assist public – 911 caller requests LPD standby while returning from a police incident. Officers said all appeared in order with no unwelcome guests.
•2400 block of Upper Mountain Road, animal complaint – 911 caller reported an injured baby fox on the front lawn that ran away. Patrol advised wildlife rehab of situation.
•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, traffic complaint – 911 caller reported a gray-blue SUV with a juvenile riding in the trunk. Officers located vehicle. Driver cited for two seatbelt violations, including those involving juveniles. Officers remained on location until a second vehicle arrived for all subjects to have their own seat in vehicle.
•Location not listed, check welfare – 911 caller reported two individuals in a white truck with its doors open; subjects not moving with their heads in their laps. Officers observed a male and a female asleep in vehicle. Subjects awaken and said they were out walking, became tired, and OK. Officers said the female had a warrant from another agency and was taken into custody.
•5300 block of Military Road, hospital, mental health check – 911 complaint; officer responded.
•LPD patrol activity – Calls officer initiated. Vehicle/traffic stops for motor vehicle violations. One driver cited with uniform traffic tickets issued for town court. One warning issued.
