Belle Isle Entertainment will hold an open casting call for the Christmas rock-musical “Joseph and Mary,” being produced on Grand Island this coming holiday season. “Joseph and Mary” is a story of enduring love, hope and redemption played against the forbidding Roman occupation of Judea. The show will have a mix of catchy show tunes and poignant love songs blending history, with humor and clever lyrics.
Auditions will be held at the Nike Base, 3278 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18; Tuesday, Aug. 19; Thursday, Aug. 21; and from 6-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.
The production team is looking for all talent levels, with emphasis on strong vocal and performance skills for the lead roles.
The show will have a sizable ensemble, so all age groups are welcome. Anyone wishing to try out for a lead role should come prepared to sing about 32 bars from a pop or rock song, with a musical backing track, or to sing acapella. Headshots and resumes, if available, are encouraged, but not required.
