Outdoor adventure television host Misty Wells is bringing Niagara Falls USA to a national audience this summer. The episode of her show, “Let’s Take It Outside,” filmed in Niagara County in May through a collaboration with Destination Niagara USA, will air on the Discovery Channel on Sunday, Aug. 31.

Viewers are encouraged to set their DVRs so they don’t miss the chance to see Niagara Falls USA featured on the big stage.

This marks the second time Wells has chosen Niagara Falls USA as a backdrop for her show. Her first visit was in October 2023, with that episode airing on the Discovery Channel in the summer of 2024.

While the show’s primary focus is on world-class freshwater fishing, the episode also highlights the rich culture and local flavor of Niagara County. Wells visits popular establishments including the Brickyard Pub & BBQ in Lewiston and Platter’s Chocolate Factory and Webster’s Bistro and Bar in North Tonawanda, showcasing the region’s culinary diversity.

The episode also captures iconic experiences unique to Niagara Falls USA, including a thrilling ride aboard the Maid of the Mist Boat Tour and the lively Smelt Festival in Lewiston. Combined with her memorable fishing adventures on Lake Ontario and the Lower Niagara River, the program highlights why the region is a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts and travelers alike.

“Hosting outdoor media like Misty Wells gives us an incredible platform to share Niagara County’s world-class sportfishing, while also shining a spotlight on our local attractions, restaurants and cultural experiences,” said Frank Campbell, director of outdoor promotions for Destination Niagara USA.

Wells herself expressed her continued enthusiasm for the destination: “I love filming in Niagara USA – there’s so much to do here. The fishing is world-class, but the scenery, food and people make it one of my favorite places to visit year after year.”

The episode of “Let’s Take It Outside” filmed in Niagara Falls USA will air Sunday morning, Aug. 31, on the Discovery Channel.

The mission of Destination Niagara USA is to expand the economic prosperity of the Niagara Falls USA communities by generating individual and group visitation. For more information, visit niagarafallsusa.com.
