On Saturday morning, several groups of protein enthusiasts gathered at the Lewiston Stone House where they collected scorecards and set their sights on culinary creations offered as part of the Lewiston Wing Walk. The second annual event showcased the River Region’s take on Western New York’s favorite food. It was produced by The Roaming Table Food Tours.
Competing restaurants included Apple Granny (salt and vinegar, tequila lime wings), the Brickyard Pub & BBQ (house dry rub), Casa Antica (Casa sweet heat), Cask + Cow (Daytona style, mango habanero), Favorites Pizza & Wings (hot butter garlic parm, Buffalo medium), Gallo Coal Fire Kitchen (Calabrian BBQ) and Tin Pan Alley (raspberry chipotle, Cajun honey butter). Lewiston Wing Walk also featured a special tasting of John Young’s Original Mumbo Sauce at a pop-up behind Brewed & Bottled Craft Beer Shop.
Each participant used their scorecard to track likes/dislikes and decide this year’s winners. The eateries that took home a trophy included: “Best Wing,” Casa Antica; “Most Unique,” Casa Antica (Casa sweet heat); and “Best Pair,” Cask + Cow (mango habanero and Daytona style).
Proceeds from Lewiston Wing Walk will benefit families through UPward Design for Life.
