Lewiston Community Lions Club Press Release

The Lewiston Community Lions Club recently hosted its annual visit from the district governor. Jeremy Schnurr, the newly elected district governor, oversees 46 local Lions Clubs across four Western New York counties: Niagara, Erie, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus.

Special guests included Niagara County Legislature Chairwoman Becky Wydysh and Michael Casale, retired director of Niagara County Economic Development, First Vice District Gov. Paul Smith, and Grand Island Lion Tom Witkowski, first vice president for Brandel Murphy Youth Foundation.

The Lewiston Community Lions Club was recently awarded funding through the Niagara County Community Partnership Fund. These funds will support local projects focused on environmental stewardship, hunger relief and vision care – continuing the club’s commitment to improving the well-being of the community.

The club also was awarded a $1,000 matching grant from the Brandel Murphy Youth Foundation. These funds will support the club’s “Cakes for Kids” program, which provides birthday cake kits to local food pantries for families in need.
