During December, Lewiston Garden Club members were busy preparing holiday gifts for families from Community Missions that were delivered along with food baskets and decorated wreaths. Members also gathered for an outing to visit the holiday decorations done by the Youngstown Garden Club at the Ontario House (aka Stone Jug). People appreciated the festive and creative decorations displayed at this historic site. In addition, the new fence the club funded for the Lewiston Museum was installed on the eastern border of the property.

The club’s next meeting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Jan. 26 at the Lewiston Public Library. There will be a business meeting and a presentation from Pat England speaking about Mason bees.

The following meeting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 23 at the library. A representative from the Cornell Cooperative Extension will provide education about pruning shrubs and tall trees. Tools and techniques will be discussed. Guests are invited to attend.

In addition, the club’s GardenFest committee is working on plans for the 20th annual GardenFest, which will be held June 20-21.
