On Monday, the Town of Wheatfield Lions Club recognized the owners and operators of Yubb’s Restaurant.
A few years ago, the Town of Wheatfield Lions Club added a new annual accolade called the “Bill Ross Community Service Award.” The inspiration for this honor came from the generous life and personality of Bill Ross. As a legislator, chairman of Niagara County Legislature, teacher, coach, Lions Club member and past president, Ross has excelled in the care and service for all the residents of Niagara County. Truely, many in Niagara County have fond memories and thankful appreciation for Bill.
Appropriately, the first recipient of this award was Ross. This award is presented annually to those who have excelled in helping the community, and in many cases served those in various needs.
With this in mind, this year's Bill Ross Community Service Award was presented to Steve and Amy who own and operate Yubb’s Restaurant on Niagara Falls Boulevard. They have excelled in charity and community support. Without fanfare, or seeking public recognition, they have not only served their customers well, but they have also taken care of those who are isolated through age or limited in health. In a sense, they are true Good Samaritans.
