In honor of Earth Day, the Lewiston Community Lions Club hosted its fifth annual cleanup around the village on Saturday. Volunteers gathered at the playground pavilion behind the Red Brick Municipal Building for refreshments and instructions, before overcoming intense rain and heading up to collect garbage and debris from surrounding neighborhoods.
The event was sponsored by Modern Disposal Services.
Lions also donated $250 to Village of Lewiston Historian Russ Piper to put toward his restoration projects at the Village Cemetery.
