The Niagara County Traveling Art Exhibit was recently on display inside the Lewiston Public Library. The artworks are part of the celebration of America 250.

Following a March unveiling in the rotunda of the Niagara County Courthouse in Lockport, this display has traversed Niagara County with stops already at the Ransomville Free Library, the Youngstown Free Library and the Wilson Community Library. It is now at the Roy-Hart Community Library, and will next be seen at the Barker Public Library and the Sanborn-Pekin Free Library.

A press release from the Niagara County Public Information Office shared, “The Niagara 250th Committee commissioned the paintings as a way to highlight some of the great history right here in Niagara County. Each painting represents a piece of history from the 15 localities in the county, along with the Tuscarora Nation and Old Fort Niagara.

“The exhibit will be displayed at different locations throughout Niagara County, ending at Old Fort Niagara, which will be the site of the county’s 250 celebration on Aug. 3. A list of locations and dates for the exhibit can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/4ay7k5w5. …

“Those who visit the exhibit can scan a QR code, which gives a short explanation of each painting. This written narrative, accompanied by a picture of each painting, can also be viewed here: https://tinyurl.com/44wyhn7y.”
