Fundraiser benefiting 'Ride for Roswell' at Mallwitz's Island Lanes

Team Roswell Rollers, a fundraising team for the “Ride for Roswell,” will host “Bowling, Baskets, and Trivia” at Mallwitz’s Island Lanes at 1887 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, May 21. Team Roswell Rollers first held this event last year and raised nearly $2,000. This is the fundraising team’s third of five events this year to raise funds toward its $20,000 goal. More than 15 team members plan to bike 10 miles or more at the 2026 “Ride for Roswell” event on Saturday, June 27, to support cancer research and treatment.

Attendees at “Bowling, Baskets, and Trivia” can enjoy a bowling special of $15 for 90 minutes of bowling. Five dollars of those proceeds will directly go to Team Roswell Rollers.

The event features 40 basket raffles, a 50/50 drawing, mystery boxes of autographed Buffalo sports memorabilia from Total Sports Enterprises (TSE Buffalo) for purchase, and a special raffle to win a deluxe basket of grilling and barbecue items. Additionally, there will be a gift card draw where participants donate $20 and then receive a mystery amount of $20 to $50 to a Western New York food establishment.

Guests are also invited to play three rounds of Kahoot! trivia, featuring interactive multiple-choice questions through a smartphone web browser or app. The top three teams will win prizes. Entry fees are $20 for a team of one or two people, and $40 for a team of three or four people.

Team Roswell Rollers raised $15,000 last year for the “Ride for Roswell” and nearly $80,000 altogether since forming in 2018. Upcoming fundraising events in June include “Buffalo Trivia Night” at Buffalo Sports Garden in Orchard Park on June 2 and specials at FIGMOR Café & Eatery in North Tonawanda from June 4-8.
