Lockport Community Television, along with the Lockport Community Cable Commission and Spectrum Cable, announced this year's scholarship recipients. This year, $14,800 in scholarships was given to 14 recipients.

Set sail with the Niagara County Community College Alumni Association on the Moondance Catamaran from 3:45-5:30 P.M. Friday, June 21. Guests are asked to meet near "The Hatch" at 329 Erie St. The event is open to NCCC alumni, NCCC employees, and friends of the college. Proceeds will support the NCCC Alumni Association.

The New York State Department of Transportation on Thursday announced construction is continuing on the project to remove a portion of the Niagara Scenic Parkway (formerly Robert Moses Parkway) in the City of Niagara Falls. As a result, an additional road closure is going into effect.

Stop in and register for the adult and children's "Universe of Stories Summer Reading Program," which starts Monday, June 17, and runs through Friday, Aug. 30. The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas held a ribbon-cutting at the Law Office of Corey J. Rossi on Saturday, May 18. The firm is located at 2700 Niagara Falls Blvd., Tonawanda. Rossi is a commercial real estate attorney and currently serves on the chamber board of directors.

The New York State Association of County Health Officials has announced the results of its 2019 election for its board of directors and executive committee. NYSACHO represents 58 local health commissioners and public health directors, serving as the voice for all New York state's local health departments. The executive committee consists of the president, vice president/president-elect and immediate past president.

Back on May 4, Cub Scout Packs 833 and 824 held its yearly cleanup on Liberty Drive, which Wheatfield Councilman Larry Helwig called a great success.
It seems the efforts went for not, though, as Helwig informed residents that more illegal dumping occurred just days later at the cleanup site.
