The grand opening ceremony of the University at Buffalo's new Crossroads Culinary Center (C3), a student dining facility that puts UB at the forefront of the collegiate dining experience, will take place beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Guided tours will follow.

Lewiston-Porter High School and the University at Buffalo are in the national spotlight with news that Lew-Port teachers Michelle Hinchliffe and Colleen Glor, together with UB Professor of Chemistry Diana Aga, Ph.D., are the recipients of a national science education award for their efforts to train student scientists to measure pharmaceutical contamination in Niagara County waterways.

Niagara University, Buffalo Niagara 360, a program of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, and Alliance Advisory Group Inc. are teaming up to present "Happy Hour For-A-Cause," a networking event for college students and young professionals that will also raise funds for the Buffalo Vet Center.

Fifty years ago, Niagara County Community College was founded and, a year later, the college opened its doors to 343 students in downtown Niagara Falls. On Sept. 4, NCCC opened doors to the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, just four blocks from the original site of NCCC.
