Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Howard Zemsky and Roswell Park Cancer Institute CEO and President Dr. Candace Johnson announced Wednesday that, following the New York trade mission to Cuba, RPCI has signed an agreement with Cuba's Center for Molecular Immunology to develop a unique lung cancer vaccine with a clinical trial in the U.S.

The terrific smell of barbecue chicken, ribs and pulled pork will be in the air at Mount St. Mary's Hospital from 3-6 p.m. Friday, May 1, for the St. Francis Guild's 17th annual chicken and ribs barbecue. Krolick's will cook the food. All proceeds will benefit the hospital.

On Saturday, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office identified the victims of Friday's shooting as Duane A. Bores, age 58, and Cynthia A. Bores, age 55, both of 6871 Errick Road.

State Sen. Rob Ortt, R-C-I-North Tonawanda, today announced $3 million he championed to help keep military bases, such as the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, in the forefront. The funding, included in the 2015-16 state budget, will be used for research and retention efforts of military bases statewide.
