Gallo bringing Destino's to Pronto

The Gallo Coal Fire Kitchen campus on Center Street in Lewiston will soon have a new culinary offering available for patrons. Owner Michael Hibbard is partnering with Jamah Destino to transform the Gallo Pronto unit into Destino's Pizzeria. Here, customers will find slices, subs, soups and salads similar to what was offered via her family's former Creek Road restaurants.

The pivot was successful: A Native American marketplace smartly lined the walkways, the smoke dance competition was held in front of an enthusiastic (and seated) audience, and the headline artists performed on the theater stage.

Town of Lewiston votes 'No' on short-term rentals

Members of the Lewiston Town Board voted by a 3-2 margin Monday evening to endorse Local Law No. 2 of 2024. The board's action, which followed plenty of debate, now essentially prohibits the operation of short-term/transient rentals. The decision comes off a contentious March 11 public hearing on the issue, and comments both for and against short-term rentals operating in local neighborhoods.
