In front of a loud crowd inside the "Lion's Den" at Lockport High School, the Lions defeated the first-place North Tonawanda Lumberjacks 61-51. With the win, Lockport sweeps the season series with North Tonawanda. The Lions are the only Niagara Frontier League team to beat NT twice.

In front of a packed crowd at North Tonawanda High School on Friday, the Lumberjacks defeated the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons, 76-37. The win gives the Lumberjacks a season-sweep of the Falcons, as the Jacks won the first outing by a score of 72-34.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Monday announced the grand opening of the new, $37 million DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in downtown Niagara Falls. The project, which included the demolition of a portion of the former Fallside Hotel and Conference Center, along with the renovation of a four-story section of the building, connects to a newly constructed nine-story tower.
